Monash eResearch Centre is seeking a Cloud and HPC Architect

Monash eResearch Centre (the operator of MASSIVE) is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Cloud and HPC Architect to lead the architecture and development of our research cloud and high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities. These capabilities have connections beyond our data centre to significant data producers and consumers, including major scientific instruments, other cloud and HPC facilities, and external research communities. The role is also responsible for accelerating access to bespoke and experimental technologies within our capabilities. Our devops ecosystem is largely software-defined, based on best practice continuous integration and continuous delivery, all operating under a certified quality management system.

This role will lead the technical oversight of Monash University’s globally-recognised differentiator: a co-designed / co-built / co-operated approach for computing infrastructure for researchers.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a highly collaborative, high-performing team working within a rewarding and challenging environment.

To be considered for this role, you will have extensive experience in programming, operating and supporting large scale systems in support of research or advanced data processing. It is also imperative that you have demonstrable high-level project and relationship management skills.

We expect candidates will have experience in many of the following: open source software, software-defined infrastructure, associated hypervisors, software defined networking, storage, HPC/HTC job management, parallel file systems, low latency interconnects, high-performance data centre protocols and Linux administration.
