Introduction to Python

Register now for our upcoming Introduction to Python workshop on Thursday, 5 and Friday, 6 November delivered online via Zoom from 10:00am – 2:30pm AEDT each day. Participants must attend both days to fully complete the workshop. We strongly recommend that you log on from 10:00am AEDT to troubleshoot any connection issues to Zoom and Slack.

Introduction to Python
This hands-on workshop aims to equip participants with the fundamentals of programming in Python and give them skills needed to apply data analysis approaches to their research questions. The workshop will be taught in a similar style to Data Carpentry workshops. Data Carpentry’s mission is to train researchers in the core data skills for efficient, shareable, and reproducible research practices.

Who: The course is aimed at beginners to programming.

Prerequisites: You don’t need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop.

What you’ll need: A computer with speakers and a microphone (note: webcams and dual monitors are recommended but not required). A Google Chrome or Firefox web browser and Zoom are the only required software. A Zoom link and instructions will be sent to registrants 2 days prior to the workshop.
