The Multi-modal Australian ScienceS Imaging and Visualisation Environment (MASSIVE) and the NCI Facility in Bioinformatics are specialised computing facilities that are available to Australian researchers through the upcoming National Merit Allocation.
In the lead up to the National Merit Allocation close in early November 2011, we are holding information sessions in Brisbane and Sydney. Please join us to learn how MASSIVE and the NCI-SF can assist you with your research and how to apply for access.

MASSIVE is helping Australian scientists to process and visualise data from a new generation of imaging instruments, including the Imaging and Medical Beamline at Australian Synchrotron, CT and MRI imaging facilities, and optical and electron microscopy facilities. The data produced by these instruments requires processing and analysis tools that allow scientists to extract answers to specific research questions. This workshop is an opportunity for the imaging community to share information about imaging tools and services that are applied by scientists in their daily research. Presentations range from the application of commercial software, to the development of specific tools and algorithms for image analysis.

The Multi-modal Australian ScienceS Imaging and Visualisation Environment (MASSIVE) provides Australian researchers with access to two high performance computers located at Monash University and Australian Synchrotron. To introduce these systems and provide support for Australian and Victorian researchers to make effective use of HPC GPU facilities, MASSIVE is running a two-day HPC GPU computing workshop on 13th-14th of July.
