Data Fluency: Introduction to Tensor Flow and Machine Learning
Register now for our upcoming Introduction to Tensor Flow and Machine Learning workshop is being held on Friday 22nd March at the Clayton campus. The workshop will be led by instructors from Monash eResearch centre and CSIRO
Introduction to Tensor Flow and Machine Learning is being held on Friday 22nd March at the Clayton campus.
This workshop will cover the basic principles behind the use of TensorFlow, a popular open-source machine learning and general numerical computing framework supported by Google. TensorFlow allows researchers to rapidly develop machine learning applications in Python that can take advantage of GPU acceleration without any specialist knowledge in parallel computing.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the basic building blocks of deep neural networks and how they have been used to solve problems such as image classification and text analysis through the use of interactive Jupyter notebooks and hands-on programming exercises. In addition to the practical programming components, through exposure to machine learning terminology attendees are also expected to gain the confidence to engage with emerging research in the field.
Who: Foundational - Intermediate level.
Setup Requirements: Attendees will need to bring a laptop.

MASSIVE supports the Monash University Data Fluency program, which trains researchers to use, explore, interpret and visualise data in a meaningful way and effectively communicate your research and ideas. Data Fluency offers regular training across a number of areas, including:
Introduction to Unix/Shell and HPC
Introduction to R
Introduction to Python
Data Fluency is open to all users of MASSIVE.
Instructions for registrants outside of Monash:
Workshop places will be available for non-Monash staff and affiliates, who will be required to create a profile for myDevelopment access by completing this form, and requesting validation from a Monash staff member (please add MASSIVE Coordinator - Wojtek Goscinski). Once this process has been completed, you will be able to register for workshops.
